Best Baby Products, 9th Edition - Review By Adam Hansen
One of the first things I thought when I realized I was going to be a new father: "Oh man, we will have to buy a lot of things!" If you do not know that it is going to find out really quickly that there is almost no end to the amount of baby products out there. Sorting through the various products and brands may seem an insurmountable task. Enter the best baby products and a real life raft in the endless sea of baby.
While the record of our baby shower, I just happened to have picked up this book at the front of the store. I literally took this book with me and used it as a reference guide, while we've added things to our registry. If not for "Best Baby" I would have gone with my usual "This looks good" method of purchase.
The best baby products is a complete and comprehensive guide to all things baby and should be a must read for any new parent or parent looking for the best quality and value in its products for babies. Consumer Reports is known for his objective and unbiased testing of products in all industries. Not even accept advertising in its journals to remain completely objective. So, you know you are getting feedback as best we can with this book.
It's 37 sections are listed in alphabetical order for easy reference. Covering all possible categories of products related to the baby that you would think (and even some not). Some of the most useful are:
The bottles and nipples
Baby Food
Bouncer Seats
Cots
Diapers
Formula
Gates
Strollers
Swings
Besides the main feature of the reviews, the book is chalk full of extras. Things like "Baby Basics" checklist, "Keep safe for babies" and "Guide to Pediatric Drugs" really are just icing on this cake.
Consumer Reports does a great job in an objective, scientifically-breaking products. Your comments keep you from buying something that seems good enough "or" pretty color ". For most products that offer a picture that breaks key factors (safety, durability, comfort, etc) and gives "bad" to "very good" ratings. They also give a numerical score so that you can compare between different brands and models.
For some products that offer only a "recommendation" instead of breaking the model. Number of car seats and breast pumps are two of this type. After other products have only limited review figures. For example, the section only cribs said the price and whether the home meets basic safety standards. Therefore, it is difficult to compare between brands and models.
While the format of the exams is not completely uniform, the book is a must have! If you do not have this book, do yourself a favor and get today.
